About

History

The Saticoy Farmers Market is a program by the Saticoy Food Hub where our mission is to create equitable economic opportunity for food producers, while providing access to local food for the community.

The Saticoy Food Hub’s Executive Director, Sierra Doehr, was selected by the Social Justice Fund for Ventura County to become a fellow and under their guidance, started the Saticoy Farmers Market where Sierra is the acting Market Manager. Our Board of Directors came together in December 2021 and is led by Leann Guzik, Katee Gustavson, and Daniel Chavez. You can learn more about them on our Team page

What We Do

We offer a 12-month program. From January to June, we educate community members on how to start a food business in Ventura County. From July to December, we host community members’ food businesses at the Saticoy Farmers Market.

The Saticoy Farmers Market is a certified farmers market where you can buy food from your next-door neighbors. We’ll be offering fresh and healthy products like any other farmers market, but produced in the neighborhood! We’ll also have entertainment and activities, so there’s something for the whole family to enjoy.

Who We Serve

We serve residents of Saticoy, CA and surrounding neighborhoods. Saticoy has been negatively impacted by food apartheid which we can heal through food sovereignty. The Saticoy Farmers Market will help fill the void of healthy and accessible food in Saticoy and surrounding areas.

The Saticoy Farmers Market can help us get to food sovereignty by creating economic opportunities for community members to grow and sell food to their neighbors. The Farmers Market will create food security and boost the local economy.
